Working at Local Matters I designed the wireframes and interactions of Destination Search. This site is the platform that we build local search sites on top of.
A bunch of refinements in this version. Cleaned up the display of results, improved the global navigation, and vastly improved the way errors are handled.
The difference between a great a web application, and good one is the quality of error handling. How helpful is the site when things go a bit wrong? There are always errors logging in, or what have you, and great application will just make it crystal clear what when wrong and how you can recover.
The version of the platform is just filled with improvements large a small. Couple of small ones worth a mention: a netflix-like preview of the business details, and a hidden till you need it refinement area. I loves me some progressive disclosure.
