Working at Local Matters I designed the wireframes and interactions of the pages on this Dutch search site, findonmap.nl.
The image shows a page from a new feature we build for the client, it is a map based yellow pages search. You enter a what you are looking for and where, and the application plots that location on the map, and finds all the matching businesses in the area.
For example, if you search for “coffee bars” in “amsterdam” it positions the map on the center of the city, and shows all the places to get high. Should be a real boon to the London tourists. I kid. Very useful local search site.
As you move the map, new results are found. So if you pan to a different part of the city, or change the zoom level, new results are shown. Very cool.
We have a great relationship with this client, and the design of the application was a real cooperation between myself, our developers and the client. Quite pleased with this one. Try it yourself at findonmap.nl.
